Settlements:
New Braunfels and Fredericksburg were the two most important settlements of the German Texans. There were many other settlements. In fact, these settlements were so diverse that each valley had a different group of German settlers. The map on the bottom right hand corner shows the approximate areas that were occupied by the Germans in Texas. Almost all of these settlements are in modern day Hill Country with a few in the Coastal Plains. Industry was the first German settlement in Texas. Marienfield (one of the first agricultural settlements in the High Plains of Texas) , later renamed as Stanton and founded in 1881, was also a slightly less important town, but was nonetheless a German town. Most importantly, Germans built their settlements from the coastline of Texas to the land north of the Llano River which is shown on the map below. (2nd one)
